Most people are suddenly working from home, trying to figure out how to find balance while being productive. For most, people working from home is a dream, but suddenly, it seems that you’re losing productivity and motivation throughout your day. Working remotely offers immense benefits, but in order to be productive, you must maintain balance. Here’s our top five tips to stay healthy while working from home!
Create a Routine- when working from home, it’s important to create structure. Without daily meetings and typical work environment factors, it is easy to incorrectly manage your time. Each day, create a list of goals and then a schedule that will keep you on track to accomplish your tasks for the day
Designate a Workspace - It is easy to get distracted when working in your home. It is highly recommended to designate a work space in a specific area in your house. This will allow you to stay focused when completing work tasks and offers privacy for daily video calls. Use a desk, home office, or guest bedroom as your designated work from home area.
Stay Active-Without the social factors from working in the office, it’s so easy to get wrapped up in your work and sit in the house all day. During these times, it is important to stay active! Go for a walk, meditate, ride your bike, cook a healthy lunch, or do yoga.
Plan Your Snack and Meal Times- You suddenly have access to your favorite snacks and meals, which can be very tempting. When working in the office, most people usually have a designated lunch time. Each day plan your lunch time and designate your snacks for the day. Also, be sure to keep healthy snacks in your home!
Drink Water- This is a great opportunity to increase your consumption of water. Keep water in your work area, just as you would in your office! Dehydration can cause fatigue and essentially decrease your energy. Increasing your water consumption will also help you stay away from soda and juices.
Don’t stress the little things, there is more to this. During a time like this, it is important to focus on the big picture. Although this may be a stressful and anxious time for everyone, embrace the great things that come with working from home: More time with your family and pets! Embrace the newness and greatness that comes with this. Quality time is essential and an important stress reliever that we all need.
